ANOTHER 23 PASTIMES

Records labels with chewing gum and shells, collage fanzine tabloids, photo exhibitions at the ICA with REM, a book about Bob, mud and the Haines Guide to Luke Haines, and a box.

REM at the ICA: It’s a book, a live Q&A, a photo exhibition and a show at the Royal Albert Hall that began in Athens, Georgia with me and Steve Pyke and ended up on Pall Mall in London back in 2004 and then at Twickenham Stadium – took my mum, they didn’t do ‘Shiny Happy People’.
An eight-page heavy card printed fanzine on outsider musician Luke Haines; at times barely legible, at times outspoken and avant-garde – an almost Tom Philips-esque escapade (did you know Tom used to work upstairs from me in Camberwell in around 1975. He would arrive at 8.30 and start sculpting above my girlfriend’s bedroom. All very Tony Hancock in The Rebel.
